Chesham got back to winning ways with this narrow but comfortable victory over a Bedford side still without a win this season. After taking the lead in their first worthwhile attack Chesham took control of the game, Bedford only briefly threatening a comeback in the closing moments of the first half. In the second half Chesham were always in control and had a third goal wrongly disallowed.
Chris Elsegood made his Chesham debut in place of Sam Ledger who was missing due to work commitments, Gabriel Fanibuyan was fit again and there were two further changes in the interests of squad rotation, Leon Archer and Ricci Crace replacing Chris Bangura and Steve Obeng. Bedford started brightly and an early shot from Graham Clark was comfortably dealt with by Shane Gore, but it was Chesham who took the lead in the 14th minute... Report
Burnham Ramblers beat Haringey Borough 5-1 yesterday so we will travel to face them in the 1st Qualifying Round on Saturday 11th September. It's Burnham on Crouch in Essex by the way just in case anyone was intending to turn up near Slough.

Chesham conceded their first goals of the season and lost their unbeaten record to a previously winless Banbury side. Chesham were on top for most of the opening half-hour and Banbury’s opener came against the run of play, but as the game wore on Chesham looked less and less likely to get back into the game.
Gabriel Fanibuyan had not recovered from the injury sustained in the midweek game at Swindon Supermarine, so Dom Marsala started in the only change to the line-up. Banbury had the edge in the opening ten minutes, but after that Chesham took control. Steve Wales hit a speculative effort that had Banbury keeper Joe Murrell back-pedalling but was just over the bar.. Report
After coming through three relatively difficult fixtures, Chesham dropped their first points of the season against a Swindon side who were only kept off the bottom of the table by Weymouth’s points deduction. In fact the point and the fourth consecutive clean sheet were the only positives from the evening, as Chesham gave arguably their worst performance since the defeat at Oxford City in the FA Trophy nearly a year ago.
Chesham’s starting line-up was unchanged for the third match running...Report
Chesham Reserves served up an eight goal thriller to start of their season. Details
Chesham are back on top of the Premier Division after a gap of six years. This victory made it three wins in three games, still without a goal conceded. Brackley were tipped to be among the front runners in the division, but are at the other extreme with only one point from three games in which they have not scored.
With Neil Sharp still not recovered from injury Chesham’s starting line-up was unchanged, Leon Archer returning to the bench. Chesham started well and in the second minute Danny Talbot’s right-foot shot was powerful but straight at Darren Acton in the visitors’ goal Report
Chesham have had no problems adjusting to the step up to the Premier Division, this win making it two out of two with two clean sheets. Chesham took an early lead and never looked like relinquishing it, wrapping the game up with a second twelve minutes from time.
There was just one change to the starting line-up, Rob Bartley replacing Neil Sharp who had not recovered from the injury sustained at Truro. Danny Talbot made his 150th appearance and John Kyriacou his 100th for the club. Chesham made a dream start with a goal in the 5th minute, Steve Wales winning the ball on the right and switching play to Chris Bangura on the left, and Bangura played the ball into the middle where Wales .... Chesham made the rest of the division sit up and take notice with this opening day win against a Truro side expected to be among the title favourites. Chesham were deserved winners although the winning margin was slightly flattering. Apart from a five-minute spell shortly before half-time the home team rarely troubled the Chesham defence while Chesham always looked likely to add to their tally once Steve Wales had broken the deadlock.
New signings Chris Elsegood and Ricci Crace were missing because of suspensions carried over from last season, while Danny Gudgeon started a three-match ban for his dismissal at Barton last season, and Leon Archer was still away. There was a strong blustery wind blowing straight down the ground and Truro had it in their favour in the first half. In the opening minutes the home team looked the more dangerous but the wind dropped and Chesham came into the game more... Report
Following tonight’s final training session ahead of the new season, Chesham United boss Andy Leese confirmed his full squad details. The team go down to Cornwall Friday afternoon for an overnight stay ahead of Saturday’s game at Truro City with several of the trialists from pre-season now confirmed in the squad for the new campaign. New signings this week are Lewis Hallford, Ricci Crace, Robert Bartley, Gabriel Fanibuyan and Adrian Stevens. These are added to the previously announced trio of Shane Gore, Chris Elsegood and Neil Sharp. With the bulk of last year's promotion winning team also returning there will be healthy competition for first team places. The full squad can be seen here
