Firstly, we hope everyone is safe and well. In what has been a crazy year we hope everyone is staying healthy and in a good place mentally.
Second lockdown has arrived and just as we started to show improvements in our performances and we had key players returning from injury. For large parts of most games we have been defensively sound and competitive, we would of liked to have scored more goals though, however in the last three games we were pleased with how we played in the attacking third.
Our last game, saw a much improved second half performance which resulted in a penalty win. As much as we were disappointed with our first half performance you have to give credit to Whyteleafe, we thought their forward line was a real threat, caused us loads of problems and more than deserved their two goal lead. The second half saw us dominate possession and we pressed much higher up the pitch which resulted in us creating lots of chances and eventually scoring the equaliser with the last kick of the game. We managed to overcome our penalty disappointment against Hastings in the FA Cup, scoring 4 with Sam stopping 3 penalties in the match to see us through.
Now into Lockdown2, the players have been given a fitness schedule to follow and have been in close dialogue with the us and the rest of the management team so we can track progress. If the situation improves, it seems football will return from 3rd December onwards with matches from the following midweek but we await final dates from the League and FA Trophy organisers. The support we have had for the home games was absolutely brilliant and as management and players we are grateful for your continued support.
Finally, the club are arranging a Managers/Supporters evening over Zoom for the end of lockdown and all supporters are welcome to join and ask us questions.
We are look forward to seeing everyone soon! Stay safe
