Hello and welcome to all the info on the greatest Comedy Football Match at the greatest Non-League football venue you will ever need.

Top comedians, Chesham’s finest footballers, musicians, madness and Alex Horne’s unique new rules all combine to produce an afternoon of top notch entertainment at The Meadow.

Here’s what you need to know:

– The game will take place on Saturday 10th May 2025

– The match will kick off at 3pm

– Turnstiles open at 12.30pm and encourage people to arrive early to secure the best spots, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the pre-match revelry

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE YOUR TICKETS READY & AVALIABLE TO YOU ON YOUR PHONE/PRINTED BEFORE YOU JOIN THE QUEUE AT THE GATES TO SAVE YOURSELF & OTHERS QUEUEING FROM BEING DELAYED

– There are no tickets avaliable as walk-ups, so please do not come to the Meadow without a ticket

– Tickets prices are as below, same as last year

  • Adults – £12
  • Concessions (over 65s, students with ID) – £10
  • NextGen (18-23 yo) – £8
  • Under 18’s – £5
  • U12’s – £1

How do I get my tickets?

We are using a new ticketing system for the event this year, so some things may be slightly different to last year.

You can access the ticketing system via the Fanbase app on the Apple and Android stores, as well as through the browser at https://app.fanbaseclub.com/ – make sure to use the app if you can.

Once you have registered, make sure to search for and follow (using the green + icon) Chesham United and “Opt in” for the latest on events, tickets & news direct from the club in the app to get the best experience including giveaways through the app.

Once you are signed in, the Alex Horne Comedy Football Trophy will be at the top of the page or under ‘Events’ in the ‘Schedule’ tab.

Once purchased your tickets will be avaliable to you in the app or email,where you can share them with the other members of your party or add them to your Apple/Google Wallet.

How do I get to Chesham United?

Whether you are travelling by train, car or walking, please try to arrive early to minimise queues at the gate

by train
Chesham station is a 10 minute walk from the Meadow (shown on map)
Served by the Metropolitan line to Chesham or Amersham operated by the TFL but you can also use the Chiltern Railways service between Marylebone & Aylesbury, changing at Chalfont & Latimer for the Metropolitan Line.

by car
There is limited car parking available at the Meadow itself, as we share the site with other sporting facilities, our parking will be reserved for Blue Badge holders & Event Staff.

However, there is plenty of local parking within a 10 minute walk, with a mixture of free parking & local council car parks identified on the map.

FOOD, DRINK & SHOPS

There will be a fantastic range of food and drink on sale at Saturday’s game; with the fabulous ‘Chess Suite’, ‘Mavericks Bar’ and 3 pop up outlets around the game (#3) supplying with alcoholic & non-alcoholic refreshments.

No matchday at the Meadow would be complete without a fantastic array of food outlets

– ‘Kokum Authentically Indian’ (#2) will be available inside the Chess Suite and walking around the ground, serving the most amazing Indian dishes 

– ‘Bills Diner’ (#4) for your full range of fantastic non-league grub – burgers, hot dogs & chips

– ‘Woody’s Pizza’ (#5) with an excellent range of pizza slices available to buy throughout the day

– ‘The Popular Stand Tea Bar’ (#6) serving a range of hot & cold refreshments, all locally sourced. We are also hoping to have other food outlets, keep an eye out for more info on those. 

’We will have two shops (#7) open on the day, either side of the top entrance (#2) with your full range of Chesham United & Comedy Football Trophy merchandise available including Home & Away shirts, Bucket Hats and Half/Half Scarves.

As well as other Chesham United and non-league memorabilia available from the Supporters Trust shop (#7)

You can also pick up a match programme on entry (while stocks last) or pick your pre-ordered programme up from the Supporter Trust shop (#7) next to Bills Diner (#4)

DOGS

While normally the Meadow welcomes our four legged friends, unfortunately we are not able to accommodate everyone’s furry friends on this occasion due to the expected crowd size. Only guide and assistance dogs will be allowed on site.

ACCESSIBILTY

The Meadow has wheelchair access to the club house and to the main refreshments area on the near side of the ground. There is also a covered wheelchair stand in front of the Chess Suite for those with limited mobility and in wheelchairs.

The Chess Suite has easy access via a ramp from the inside the ground, providing access to the bar and to the disabled toilet area.

HALF TIME EVENTS

PENALTY SHOOTOUT INVOLVING SEVERAL PRIMARY SCHOOLS FROM THE LOCAL AREA – OVER 50 CHILDREN. See the stars of the future shoot into a goal that is far too big for this purpose! If they miss they’re out.

THE CLIMAX OF THE CHESS HAM LOOKALIKE COMPETITION! Sam Campbell, aided by an actual pig, judges the outfits and picks a winner
