Chesham went down to a second defeat over Easter against mid-table Slough.  This was another end-of-season game and Chesham fielded a reshaped side, which may explain the rather disappointing performance. There were eight changes from the starting eleven from the Good Friday defeat at Hemel Hempstead, with only Ben Goode, Alex Lafleur and Connor Stevens keeping their places.

Nevertheless Chesham made a fine start with a third-minute goal.  Following a neat build-up on the right the ball was switched to Alex Lafleur on the left, and his low cross was turned in by Nathan Minhas at the near post.  However Chesham were looking uncertain in defence, and three minutes later Slough’s Johnny Goddard had a free header but missed the target.  However three minutes later Dan Roth played the ball in from the right and Slavi Spasov was able to turn it past Ben Goode unchallenged to level the scores.  Ten minutes later another right-wing cross was cleared as far as Johnny Goddard, who had time and space to control and shoot into the corner of the net past Ben Goode’s right hand.  Chesham came back and Connor Stevens shot over after an Ashley Lodge throw had been cleared as far as Omar Rowe.  Rowe then tried a shot that was well struck but straight at keeper Charlie Horlock.  Chesham continued to press and a Connor Roberts free kick caused problems in the Slough area, Connor Stevens had a shot blocked and Nathan Minhas’ follow-up was also blocked at the expense of a corner.  Shortly before half-time Edon Pruti misjudged the bounce of the ball which went over his head and let in Joe Grant, Horlock saved but the ball ran loose and eventually Nathan Minhas worked a shooting chance but shot against the post with the goal gaping.

Nine minutes into the second half Slough scored a third when David Ogbonna was allowed to run to the edge of the area and fire past Ben Goode.  Chesham came back with Nathan Minhas firing in a shot that Horlock saved well, but otherwise there seemed little hope of a Chesham fightback.  Chesham made a number of substitutions with Matt Lench and Gary Abisogun both returning after lengthy absences.  On 83 minutes Mitchell Weiss headed in a corner from fellow sub Bradley Clayton to halve the deficit.  Chesham’s one last chance came in stoppage time when they won a free kick on the edge of the Slough area, but Omar Rowe lifted the ball narrowly high and wide.
