This season, with the addition of Fulham, Luton Town and MK Dons it’s set to be a challenging campaign but early signs are positive that we’re building a squad that can compete well.
Our first competitive fixture of pre-season was away at Northampton Town. Our hosts finished second in Division 1 Midlands, so we started with a quality opponent, but the intention was to start lots of new players to give the coaching staff an opportunity to see what they were made of against a really good Northampton squad. Niamh Euman captained a team with 12 new players and a couple of Chesham regulars from our other age groups and while we were on the end of a defeat it was a fabulous exercise that gives us lots of confidence going into the rest of pre-season.
We’re back to training this evening (Tuesday 8th) for session 8 of pre-season and have a couple more friendlies this month against Newport Pagnell (20th) and St Albans (27th) before we host London Seaward on 3rd August. The season will start on the 17th August with fixtures released next week.
We’ve been busy renewing sponsorship for the season and we’re delighted to welcome back 3 Way Displays on the front of our 1st team shirt and Clarks of Amersham on the back. Mediaport, the company that produce our match day programmes, will be on the shorts again. Elsewhere in the club we have a terrific family of partners across all our teams but we have a few spaces! Do get in touch if you’d be up for a discussion!
6 weeks to go! Season tickets are still available for the women’s games and we hope to see you as part of a good crowd for our first fixture at The Meadow. We’ll share the fixtures next week so keep your eyes peeled!
