Chesham reached the last sixteen of the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup with a comfortable win over their opponents from the Combined Counties League. Chesham made eight changes from the team that beat Enfield Town on Saturday, with six of Saturday’s seven substitutes handed starts, Will St Clair-Burton making his first start after appearing off the bench and two further newcomers given debuts – 17-year-old goalkeeper Kai Mussilhy and 18-year-old youth team captain Blake Argent.

Chesham dominated from the start and had two early efforts – one from Samson Esan that was pushed away by Maciej Wieczorek in the Thatcham goal, then another from Matt McClure that was blocked at the expense of a corner.   A fine long ball from Dan Bayliss then sent Zak Joseph clear, but as the goalkeeper came out a defender got in a challenge to clear for a corner.  On 25 minutes the visitors had their one real chance, when a long free kick ran loose in the Chesham area and Jamie Barker stabbed wide.  On the half-hour Matt McClure netted after Wieczorek failed to hold an Alfie Williams corner, but the goal was disallowed for a foul.  Eventually Chesham broke through when Josh Addae broke away down the right, crossed and defender William Edwards turned the ball into his own net at the far post.  Three minutes later Dan Bayliss tried a shot from the left edge of the area and Wieczorek tipped the ball round the post.  Eventually Chesham grabbed a second goal in the last minute of normal time, when Steve Brown’s low shot from fully 35 yards found the bottom corner of the net past the right hand of the diving Wieczorek.

In the second half Chesham continued to push forward, and on the hour mark Callum Adebiyi burst into the penalty and was brought down for a penalty which Matt McClure converted to make it 3-0.  Three minutes later McClure shot just wide following a long crossfield ball from Steve Brown.  Midway through the half Chesham made a triple substitution, and five minutes later added a fourth goal.  Josh Addae crossed from the by-line on the right, Will St Clair-Burton crossed back in and eventually Mitchell Weiss nodded in from close range.  Chesham had one more effort of note when Josh Addae again crossed from the right, and Nathan Minhas tried a shot on the turn but Wieczorek dived to save.
