Chesham ended their season with their third consecutive defeat, although curiously they went up a place in the final table after Chippenham lost 4-0. This was another end-of-season affair as both sides had little to play for. There were four changes to the starting eleven, with Avan Jones, Taylor Foran, Jack Connors and Mitchell Weiss replacing Connor Roberts, Lewis Rolfe, Samson Esan and Nathan Minhas.
Technically Dorking still had a chance of winning the league but that depended on all the five teams above them failing to win, and it was clear from early on that that was never going to happen. Dorking had the first chance in the ninth minute, when a mishit shot from Jimmy Muitt was turned across goal and past the far post by Tony Craig. Dorking had more of the ball but were clearly playing with the play-offs in mind and there was little urgency in the game, with Ben Goode in commanding form in his own area. Chesham’s best effort of the game came on 28 minutes, when Jack Connors set up Joe Grant for a shot from the edge of the area that flew just wide. The home side came back and Ben Goode made a fine flying save to keep out Dan Gallagher’s header from a Josh Taylor cross. In stoppage time Brennan Camp fired the ball across goal from a narrow angle but the ball came back off the bar.
Dorking made four substitutions at half-time, presumably to rest a few players ahead of the play-offs. Early in the second half Matthew Briggs crossed from the right and Ben Goode denied Niall McManus at close range. By the hour mark Chesham had also made four substitutions of their own, but apart from a long-range effort from Alex Lafleur home keeper Harrison Foulkes was hardly tested. On 70 minutes Dorking took the lead when Matthew Briggs crossed low from the right and James McShane swept the ball in. Ten minutes later Alfie Rutherford broke forward and set up Rhys Murphy who swept home the second to seal the win
