The Under 18s completed their League & League Cup double with a 1-0 victory over a strong Barnet academy side at Colney Heath in the Brian Hitchings Challenge Cup final last night. Finn Reeves scored the only goal of the game in the first 15 minutes, turning home a low cross by Jonah Howgego.

The Young Generals who hadn’t played for 3 weeks due to exams & the completion of the league season, had previously beaten four strong opponents from across the Southern Counties Floodlit Youth Leagues on the way to the final

  • Harpenden Town (4-3 on penalties, after a 2-2 draw) – Semi Final
  • Kings Langley Reds (3-2 away win) – Quarter Final
  • Harrow Borough (4-0 home win) – Round of 16
  • Amersham Town (7-1 away win)  – Round of 32

The U18s had previously clinched the Pegasus Division title with 12 wins from their 14 games, scoring 46 times and conceding just 9 goals on the way to winning the league by 9 points with a 4-0 win over Kings Langley Blues on 10th April.

Congratulations to all the U18s, including some 16 year olds who made their debuts towards the end of the season for their fantastic season in Youth football, as they continue on their development and journey into Men’s first team football
