It all kicks off tonight with our family friendly Fireworks Display at The Meadow, followed by another huge National League South fixture tomorrow afternoon when we welcome Salisbury. Please make the most of what promises to be two brilliant days of community spirit, football and fun.

For tonight, please arrive early to enjoy all the food and drink facilities available, including Bill’s Diner, Kokum Indian Cuisine, the clubhouse and our outdoor bars. Gates open around 6pm with the display due to start around 7.30pm. Tickets are selling extremely well so book online if you haven’t already. There will also be cash and card entry available on the night. Please remember there is no parking at the club this evening, so park sensibly in nearby areas, walk where possible and respect our neighbours. We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable evening, and with your help we can make it another memorable night for the town.

Then, less than 24 hours later, we are back at The Meadow as Salisbury visit in the league. After picking up four points from our last two games, including that magnificent draw away at league leaders and previously unbeaten Hornchurch, the team are sitting ninth in the table and right in the mix. Considering that half the sides in this division are full-time professional outfits, that is an incredible achievement and testament to the hard work of James Duncan, Michael Murray and every single player. Please come out in great numbers to get behind the lads. The atmosphere and noise generated by our supporters, home and away, makes such a difference. Bring a friend along tomorrow and let’s keep building the momentum.

After the match the entertainment doesn’t stop there. JD and Muzza will be swapping tactics boards for quiz sheets as they host our annual Managers’ Quiz Night in the clubhouse. It’s always a brilliant evening and one of the most popular events of the year. Entry is £60 for a table of six, with all proceeds going directly to our Players’ Rehabilitation Fund, an important cause that helps support our squad through injury recovery. If you can’t make the quiz but would like to contribute to the fund, please do get in touch, every little helps.

Elsewhere around the club, we are continuing to build our Supporter Liaison Team and would love to hear from anyone interested in getting involved. It’s a great way to play a part in improving communication between the club and supporters, helping us continue to grow as a community club that listens and evolves together. On behalf of everyone at Chesham United, I also want to wish Ann Trafford a speedy recovery after her recent accident. Get well soon Ann, and do look after her Ray.

Please don’t forget to buy a programme this weekend. A lot of clubs at our level have stopped producing them, but we are proud to still offer a proper, content-packed publication that gives great insight into your club, our opponents, and non-league football in general. Your support helps make sure that continues.

Our Women’s First Team have a weekend off but are already preparing for a crucial home fixture against Actonians next Sunday, 16th November, at 2pm. Please come along and give them your support if you can. The Development Team are away at Larkspur Rovers, looking to build on an excellent start to their season, while a huge congratulations goes to our Women’s Walking Football squad who finished an incredible third in the country at the FA Walking Football Cup at St George’s Park, a fantastic achievement that makes us all very proud.

Finally, a word from one of our valued partners, The Chiltern Hospital, who are hosting a free community health event on Wednesday 26th November at their Chiltern site, focused on Breast Health Essentials. Expert speakers including Miss Fiona Tsang-Wright and Mr Michael Tyler will cover topics such as self-examination, early detection and reconstruction after breast cancer. It’s an important subject and a great example of how our local sponsors contribute to the wellbeing of the wider community. Spaces are limited, so please reserve your place early if you would like to attend.

So, fireworks tonight, football tomorrow, and a quiz to round it all off. A huge weekend for our club and our town. Come along, bring friends and family, enjoy the magnificent facilities, and be part of what makes Chesham United so special. One Club, One Community. Enjoy the weekend, and thank you for your incredible support.
