Biography

A commanding and experienced midfielder, Upward joined the Generals after leaving Farnborough in October 2023 but he will be best known for his nine year stay with Maidenhead United which came to an end in the summer of 2023 after making over 300 appearances for the Magpies.

Ryan moved to York Road for the 2014/15 season from Burnham and had been an ever-present figure across his nine years in Berkshire, the midfielder left Maidenhead United as one of their longest serving players, boasting a wealth of experience in Non-League’s top flight after having helped the Magpies to win a National League South title in 2016/17. Ryan is currently out for an extended period recovering from an Achilles injury at the end of last season.
